With a solid two months in, it’s safe to say that 2016 is the year of Ashley Graham. Not only did the curvaceous beauty grab everyone’s attention on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue, (while striving to go against the overused term: “plus-size” might we add) but now she’s added clothing designer to her endless list of accomplishments.
Teaming up with casual womenswear retailer, DRESSBAR at Dressbarn, Graham has created a collection of dresses intended to look great on everyone – because, isn’t that what brands should be aiming for anyway? The line, Beyond by Ashley Graham, includes four dress styles that are offered in sizes 4-24 – and yes, you guessed it, they’re all affordable.
And while this is the first time Graham has taken on women’s apparel, the 28-year-old isn’t a stranger to creating stylish separates. Having produced a lingerie line with Addition Elle back in 2013, the model told Racked about how her expertise in undergarments played a big part in this new endeavor.
“I understood that there were so many different components than just saying, ‘make that.’ It’s also not just about what I want, it’s also about what the customer is desiring. Because I can come in and think I know everything and anything and they could say this is the fabric and the print that sells the best and I could say, ‘really?!’…”
Retailing between $48-$66, pieces include fit and flare silhouettes, floral prints and even a few bodycon separates – basically everything you’ll need to take you through the spring and summer season, if you ask us.
