It’s no secret that Amazon is on a mission to expand its fashion presence. Between the recent announcement of naming Suki Waterhouse as its brand spokesperson, to their success on climbing the apparel retail ladder, the e-commerce company is proving that technology and fashion is a match made in heaven.
Well now Amazon is taking things one step further, by investing in one of the most popular fashion sites there is: WhoWhatWear. If you’re not familiar, the style destination is well known for helping its readers shop for celebrity-inspired trends and looks. And as a result, Amazon is one of several investors that closed an $8 million deal to fund WhoWhatWear’s parent company, Clique Media.
“We could not be happier to be working with them,” WhoWhatWear co-founder, Katherine Power told Business Insider. “Their end goal is always making things easier for the consumer. That’s a goal we have, too, and we’re applying that across fashion, beauty, and lifestyle.”
The deal comes at a time where Amazon has been making major strides in the online fashion market. Just last month, the company acquired a London photography studio that will stand as a home for all things fashion. We’re convinced the mash-up of these powerful companies can only mean bigger things in the near future for the both of them.
So while we wait for their next major announcement – a possible capsule collection, maybe? – check out our gallery of WhoWhatWear’s best fashion moments on the pages ahead.
