We wouldn’t be surprised if you aren’t following @BarbieStyle on Instragrm, but now we’re telling you to stop what you’re doing and hit the follow button – STAT. The social media page is Barbie’s style-inspired Instagram account that shows off her designer outfits and travels throughout Fashion Month. Well now the popular doll is getting an iconic update during the closeout of Paris Fashion Week, thanks to makeup artist, Pat McGrath.
According to Vogue, the famed artist will be giving Barbie four makeovers based on her most iconic beauty looks. We’re talking the faux-facial jewels that just showed on Givenchy’s SS16 runway, the winged-teal shadow from Versace’s 2013 era, a punk-inspired look from the 2013 Met Gala and a brightly colored look comparable to the makeup McGrath applied to Jessica Stam in 2004. The looks are being displayed on the @BarbieStyle Instagram page – between envious shots of Barbie enjoying Paris Fashion Week, of course.
As far as the esteemed Pat McGrath, if you’re unfamiliar, here’s a quick update. She was named Fashion Innovator of 2013 by The Wall Street Journal and has been making waves throughout fashion month with her innovative runway looks – remember those gorgeous gold lips at Prada’s SS16 runway? Well yea, major beauty envy going on right now.
Check out Barbie’s first three iconic looks on the pages ahead.
